An explosion occurred at Giwa Barracks in Maiduguri due to excessive heat, causing some munitions to detonate in an ammunition storage facility. The situation has been brought under control with the help of the Borno State Fire Service Department and other security agencies.

Troops have been deployed to protect the public and prevent any potential threats. The public is assured that the situation is under control and is urged to remain calm, disregarding any speculation of an attack within the Maiduguri Metropolitan Council.

The authorities are working to ensure public safety and security.
