Efforts to enhance security coordination in Ogun State have intensified as the state’s Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, engaged in a series of high-level meetings with key security agencies. The visits, held on April 21, brought together representatives from the Nigerian Army, Department of State Services (DSS), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
Discussions during the engagements centred on strengthening intelligence sharing, improving joint operations, and ensuring a more coordinated response to security threats across the state. At the 35 Artillery Brigade in Abeokuta, both police and military officials reviewed existing strategies and explored ways to boost joint patrols and rapid intervention efforts.
Further talks with the DSS highlighted the need for enhanced intelligence gathering and proactive measures to prevent potential threats, while meetings with the Immigration Service focused on tightening border security to address illegal migration and cross-border crimes. Engagements with the NSCDC also emphasised the protection of critical infrastructure and improved emergency response coordination.
Ojajuni underscored the importance of inter-agency cooperation, noting that sustained collaboration remains vital to maintaining peace and safeguarding lives and property. The initiative reflects a broader commitment by security authorities to reinforce partnerships and improve overall safety in the state.
