The Commandant of the Nigerian Army Armour School in Bauchi, Major General Abubakar Ahmed, has reaffirmed the Army’s commitment to sustaining high-quality training for armoured personnel supporting counterinsurgency operations in the North-East.
During an operational assessment visit to the Headquarters of Operation HADIN KAI in Maiduguri, the Commandant commended troops for their resilience, professionalism, and continued efforts in maintaining security and protecting civilians in the region. He noted the improved security atmosphere in Maiduguri as a testament to the troops’ dedication.
The visit, according to him, aimed at evaluating the performance of armoured personnel in the theatre and identifying areas for improvement. He expressed satisfaction with ongoing feedback regarding troop performance and assured continued support through enhanced training, provision of equipment, and systematic personnel rotation.
In response, the Theatre Commander, Major General Abdusalam Abubakar, appreciated the sustained collaboration and quality training provided by the Armour School, emphasizing the critical role of armoured units in the success of ongoing operations.
The visit featured interactive engagements with senior officers, exchange of souvenirs, and other ceremonial activities.
